I came to a realization some time ago that I am too hard on myself. Too often, I beat myself up about not doing things well enough. I still find myself apologizing for not doing things as well as I could. As well as I think I could have.
This wears me out. I never feel good when I am doing it or after. I know I do my best yet still tend to feel I could do better. The remedy I found is to remember to love myself. I send myself loads of love and appreciation when I start going into this silly mind talk. It always makes me feel better.
I don’t think I’m alone in being self-critical and unloving to myself at times. Moms are the queens of giving loads of love to the whole family, providing an unlimited supply on a daily basis. I just want to remind you moms to send equal amounts to yourself. Be kind to yourself. Notice if you are too hard on yourself or simply not aware of your needs.
We can feel lacking in love and appreciation when we are forgetting to love ourselves on a regular basis. The best ways I like to love myself are in speaking kindly to myself, and allowing myself to do things I love like getting a massage or taking a walk outside.
How we choose to show love to ourselves isn’t what matters. It’s that we take the time to do it and remember to.
I challenge you to think of one way you can love yourself this week and then find the time to do it. Remember you can always ask for help to find more time for you.
You deserve it!
